EMDR stands for ‘Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing’. It is an evidence based intervention that helps people with post-traumatic stress symptoms and PTSD process their distressing memories so that they are able to resume living their lives in the fullest sense.

EMDR is also helpful for people who have specific phobias or panic disorder. I have successfully used it for people with fears of spiders, butterflies, heights and drowning.

Since 2004, EMDR has been recommended as an effective treatment for trauma in the Practice Guidelines of the American Psychiatric Association, the Departments of Veterans Affairs and DefenseSAMHSA the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies,the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence and the World Health Organization.

I have been trained to the standards required by EMDR UK & Ireland and am accredited as a practitioner.
